I worked for 8 years in various London photographic studios, mainly fashion and advertising, before returning to college to study Mural Design at Chelsea School of Art,where I developed an interest in Stained Glass.
Studies included Ceramics, Painting, Textiles, Woodwork and Plastics.
I moved to Wales, with husband and three children in 1977.
Became involved with Llandovery Theatre in 1985 and have designed and executed, Publicity Posters, Stage Sets and Murals in the Foyer and Art Gallery.
In 1987 I started ' Yn y Wlad Stained Glass ' and have completed numerous domestic and public commissions, and exhibited extensively at Design Shows , Trade Fairs and Galleries.
In 1991, I was selected by The Mail on Sunday to exhibit paintings with them at the 6th International Contemporary Art Fair ' Art London 91 ' at Olympia. ( In celebration of the Fall of Berlin Wall )
My work has been shown on S4C.TV current affairs program ' Heno '; HTV program ' On the Road With Eleanor ' ; appeared in ' Carmarthenshire Life ' Magazine and in ' Stained Glass Source Book '
I work in all areas of Stained Glass, working in traditional methods of leaded,copperfoiled, kiln fired painting, silver staining, and acid etching, as well as innovative fused glass for both panels and kiln formed items.
I am inspired by colour, light and movement and work in many styles, tailored to personal and architectural requirements.
I also work with local Blacksmiths and Carpenters to create screens and tables.
Since 1991, I have been involved in Art Therapy work with Disadvantaged people, for Vales Community Business, Rhondda; Workshops in Stained Glass and Enameling, for Arts Care/Gofal Celf, Carmarthen and also 15 years Evening Classes in Stained Glass at Arts Factory, Rhondda, and currently for Coleg Powys, Powys.
