I create exciting, funky, functional, fused and cast glass art for the home, garden and business. Inspired by the landscape, colour and light around my home in the mid Wales hills, the intense colours of my holiday home in Spain, and my travels to India, Asia and Africa, my work oozes a powerful depth and vibrancy.
Each piece of glass is hand cut, layered and fired in a kiln for at least 28 hours. It is then cold-worked, using a diamond grinder to add more layers before a second firing takes place. For vessels, vases and shaped glass, the flat piece is then placed on to a mould and re-fired for a third time.
I use dichroic and iridescent glass in my pieces, along with copper and silver foil, silver and gold leaf and enamels, which gives my work that wow factor, especially my jewellery.
Working with local metal artists, to my own designs, I combine glass with metal to create garden sculptures including flowers (as featured in The Glass Cone, a magazine for glass collectors), fountains and bird baths. With the help of specialist carpenters, I also create functional coffee and side tables.
Every piece is unique, from door, wall and window panels to bowls, dishes, vases, wall and pendant lighting and glass art for the bathroom and kitchen including; wall tiles, tile inserts, splash-backs, sinks and shelving. Much of my work is commissioned. Working closely with my clients, I create bespoke, practical and functional art especially for them.
My award winning work has been installed all over the UK, and can be found in homes and businesses in Europe and the USA. It can also be found in galleries and garden centre?s from the South coast to the Scottish borders.
If you have ideas for a design for wall/door panels or even a bowl. I will be happy to bring those ideas alive for you in fused glass.
