Tessa Waite is a visual artist based in Brecon, Mid Wales.
Drawing is central to her practice and she uses a wide range of techniques and media in response to the particular nature of a project or idea. She has twice been artist in residence at Hereford College of Arts, making animated films using photography, drawing and collage. She has a studio at Penpont where as part of Penpont Artists she co-curated two site responsive exhibitions involving the work of over 30 artists.
She is a regular contributor to projects at Arts Alive Wales. In 2015 she completed Aerial, a large scale installation in Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny with the support of Gwent Arts and Health and the Arts Council of Wales.
'Tessa Waite's works demonstrate a remarkable range of technical means and of resultant imagery. This implies a searching spirit responding to a variety of impulses and situations, and the need to operate through different structures. Her works bring colours and forms into delicate interaction and movement. They take us into an enchanted world.' Norbert Lynton, art historian and critic.
