Hazel Gwatkin

I am a photographer and live in the small village of New Radnor. I am inspired by the beautiful countryside that surrounds me and most of my photographs are taken in close proximity to my home. My black and white photographs are taken using infrared film, creating a mystical feel to what are already beautiful landscapes. By using an opaque filter over the lens of the camera, the infrared film captures light beyond the red end of the spectrum, enabling images to be recorded of what the naked eye cannot see and until the film is developed there is no way of knowing how the photographs will appear.
