Biography Robert Miles Davies (1965 - present)Rob is fascinated by the process of mark making and is exploring this through his true passion which is drawing and painting while using a variety of media. Rob draws his inspiration from everything around him and the often wild and natural Welsh landscape and its ancient sites.Rob is also a Graphic Designer and skilled Illustrator having studied those subjects at Brighton Art College under the tutelage of Raymond Briggs and John Vernon Lord. After leaving College with a BA Honours Degree he worked for two design and advertising companies, has illustrated for numerous magazines and publishers and spent a period working as a background artist for an animation company.He also function as a multi skilled creative with 30 years experience in the creative industry that includes publishing, advertising, conceptual design and visualisation. He is a qualified teacher and teaches art classes with an emphasis on drawing.He has illustrated books for the Gwasg Gomer and Pont in Wales.Rob Davies has worked for Powys County Council since 1995 promoting literacy to children. He has recently completed a project on book making and the written word called ?Young story makers? and on a project with the teachers and pupils of Beguildy school, creating and illustrating a book. In recent years he was seconded to an education and development post for the museum service and as a project leader for a Powys digital history project called Powys: A day in the Life.
