I am a Freelance wildlife - Natural History Photgrapher based in Builth Wells.
I became interested in wildlife when I was a teenager and living in Brecon where during my free time I would be outdoors either fishing or cycling somewhere and regularly I would have my camera with me.
My passion for photography was reignited in 2003 when events in my life changed my outlook on life and I decided then that I wanted not just a career change but a change in lifestyle as well.
I have recently finished my degree in photograph and I graduated in with a 1st. During my time on my degree I have done lots of projects and all of them in some way or the other involved wildlife. I suppose this was telling me that this was my calling.
I have now set up my own business as a wildlife photographer
Influences in my life come from photographers such as Andy Rouse, Peter Cairns and also Danny Green who have influenced my work and how I approach wildlife photography greatly.
I am interested in all areas of Natural History photography however I do find myself drawn to birds. Over the next couple of years I hope to broaden my horizons and capture more mammals of the British Isles as well. I suppose what I like about wildlife photography is capturing that 'Decisive Moment' when the subject is at its best.
Over the last couple of months since finishing my degree I have been establishing myself as a wildlife photographer. To date I have managed to capture wild otters something which many photographers have failed to do.
