I am a mid-career artist working in sculpture and drawing as well as curating exhibitions and teaching. My work uses iconic and symbolic imagery both figurative and expressionist. Media include stone carving, construction, charcoal, ink and multi media drawings and constructions.
I have worked from the same studio I have used for 25 years in Llangadfan as well as recently using a new work place in Mid West France and a new art field, Cae Gorlan, which is used for contemporary rural sculpture.
I worked as a director of Cywaith Cymru Artworks Wales and Safle and previously curated exhibitions for Wrexham Arts Centre and Aberystwyth Arts Centre. I was a lecturer at Liverpool Hope University in the 90s and have lead numerous workshops and courses in sculpture, drawing and fine art over the years. Recently I have taught a Fine Art module and a Drawing module in Bala for Bangor University and led a stone carving workshop at Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
I am now working towards a one-person exhibition at Museum of Modern Art Wales in Machynlleth opening on 2nd April 2011.
