I produce wildlife models or sculptures.
Life-size or accurately scaled, fully detailed representations of wildlife subjects.
I work mainly to commission, being able to match exactly the requirements of the customer in terms of subject species, action/pose, seasonal plumage, etc.
Each model is created on an armature of wire framework and/or shaped styrofoam. Structural features (wings, tails, feathers, feet, beaks, etc.) and surface detail are variously constructed, layered, sculpted and carved using different grades of paper, card, textile, acrylic sheet, wire, wood, polymer clays and epoxy putty. Taxidermy glass eyes are used in bird and mammal models and all the colour details of the subjects applied with acrylic paints.
