I am an intuitive and versatile singing teacher, providing unique-style one-to-one lessons that enable students to discover their own full potential of singing with confidence and joy. I focus on the qualities that are present within each individual and help them to realise and believe in the gifts they have. Through a variety of techniques including vocal play and improvisation, I enable them to explore what their voice is really capable of. I work with a variety of performers to prepare them for auditions, which includes developing acting skills, posture and performance technique, vocal projection and how to evoke emotion and authentic report with the audience.
I enjoy collaborative workshop leading and I am currently working with Michelle Brydie of Walks in Paradise [www.walksinparadise.com/wales] offering half day workshops called 'Songlines' which includes guided walking and singing, an evening meal and song around a camp fire.
I regularly co-lead a workshop called 'Mastering a better singing voice' with Abbie Lathe in the beautiful surroundings of Wandering William, near Ludlow in Shropshire. The emphasis is on developing good breath control, improving tonal quality and extending vocal range to achieve the best possible sound [www.wanderingwilliam.co.uk]. I also collaborate in leading 'Free your Voice' singing workshops with Patrick Pearson MSTAT [www.pearson-alexandertechnique.co.uk], bringing together the Alexander Technique and the freedom that comes with teaching the Natural Voice technique.
I led a day's workshop, 'Play in a day' for Ysgol Cedewain with theatre drama specialist Deborah Peck, working with young people with special needs. I composed both the musical score and the songs, preparing the children for a final performance at the end of the day. I have provided workshops for the Women?s Institute, and lead my own day-long workshops throughout the UK.
